Connector (or Feed)
What Is a Connector (or Feed)?
A connector or feed is an automated mechanism that makes it possible to exchange data between a PIM (Product Information Management) system and other systems, such as e-commerce sites, marketplaces, or ERPs. It acts as a bridge between a data source and a target, ensuring the synchronization and consistency of product information.
Connectors play a key role in the PIM ecosystem by ensuring:
- Automation of exchanges: They make it possible to import or export data regularly and in a structured way, according to predefined rules (frequency, format, etc.).
- Data synchronization : They ensure that product information stays up to date across all distribution channels, whether an e-commerce site, a marketplace, or a printed catalog.
- Integration with other tools: Connectors facilitate interoperability between the PIM and other solutions (ERP, CRM, DAM, etc.), optimizing product data management.
