Work From Anywhere at Quable
As you know, we were not always a 100% remote company, and no. Before the Covid crisis, Quable was a Parisian start-up, with premises (for real). Following the confinements, we made the choice to opt for full telecommuting, and today Quablers come from everywhere: Rennes, Brest, Bordeaux, Aix en Provence, Ajaccio and even Reunion!
While evolving the Quable PIM, Work From Anywhere is more than just a way of working; it is a true life philosophy for us, which is a win-win for the company and the employees.
The benefits for Quable
We are now recruiting our future nuggets without any geographical constraints, which gives us the opportunity to attract even more talent and increase our visibility.
Wherever they are, our future employees can apply and carry out their daily tasks from anywhere because there is no obligation for them to go to physical offices.
100% remote working has also enabled us to increase productivity: no more coffee breaks in the open space, no more noise pollution and other disturbances which, after all, take up a lot of time. Everyone can work at home in the place they want without being disturbed by any distractions.
Even if this 100% remote allows for economies of scale (on premises and other daily expenses) this is not the major advantage for Quable, and should not be the main reason for a move to telework, in our opinion. This transition to teleworking has considerably improved the well-being of Quablers and consequently their motivation and involvement in the company (low turnover).
All this sounds wonderful (and it is) but for Quable, the choice of 100% telework must be implemented for the right reasons and the company must give its employees the means to create this remote lifestyle in a healthy and serene way (installation bonus, provision of computer equipment...).
The benefits for Quablers
There are many of them and we are delighted: for us, Work From Anywhere at Quable means trust and transparency with our managers and Quable in general. No one has anything to hide, we can check everyone's diary to see if someone is available, if they need to concentrate and therefore not be disturbed... etc
Moral: the most important thing is that the work has been done and done well, no matter under what conditions and where it was done.
Literally, Work From Anywhere allows us to work from wherever we want: from the depths of the Ardèche, on a boat, from a yurt... as long as the wi-fi connection is functional. This way of working also allows us to live wherever we want: not necessarily from a big city where all the job offers are usually gathered, but from less populated and more rural areas, more in line with the lifestyle of some Quablers.
Teleworking allows us to save a considerable amount of time: avoiding public transport, which can add one, two or even three hours of time per day, allows us to reallocate this time to activities or moments that give us more pleasure: enjoying our family more, practising a sporting activity, getting involved in community and/or personal projects, or simply doing nothing. Over the course of a week, some people can save between 5 and 15 hours of time, a precious and not insignificant amount of time.
In reality, Quable cheats a little and is not 100% teleworking because we have offices in Rennes, Aix en Provence and Paris, but this à la carte teleworking gives employees a real choice.
The Work From Anywhere philosophy allows Quablers to use their work to support their lives in general, not the other way around. In fact, this way of living and working is just like our PIM : a SaaS solution that can be used by our customers anywhere, anytime.
We are convinced of two things: 100% telework is the future of work (and for us the present), and we will never go back!
