Data governance
What is data governance?
Data governance is the set of processes, policies and responsibilities that oversee the management, security and use of data within an organization.
It aims to ensure data is reliable, secure, compliant with regulations (GDPR, sector-specific standards) and aligned with business objectives. Effective governance involves clear roles (data stewards, business owners), suitable tools (PIM, MDM) and quality rules to avoid silos or inconsistencies.
