Fields (or Attributes)
What Is a Field?
A field is a basic element used to structure and organize specific information within a database or management system. In the context of product data, a field corresponds to a precise characteristic of an item: its name, reference, price, description, color, weight, and so on.
Fields are essential for ensuring the quality and consistency of information, especially when it is managed through a PIM (Product Information Management) system. They help standardize data, make it easier to search and update, and ensure consistent distribution across all sales channels (e-commerce sites, marketplaces, printed catalogs, etc.).
Rigorous field management boosts team efficiency, improves the customer experience, and strengthens companies' commercial performance.
