Golden Record
What is a Golden Record?
The Golden Record is the single, reliable and up-to-date version of a piece of product, customer or reference data, created by consolidating multiple sources.
In data management, the Golden Record helps eliminate duplicates and inconsistencies by merging the most accurate and complete information available. It’s often used in Master Data Management (MDM) or Product Information Management (PIM) strategies to guarantee a single source of truth, essential to the consistency of data distributed across all channels (e-commerce, marketplaces, CRM, etc.).
For companies, the Golden Record improves data quality, reduces errors and enhances the customer experience by providing unified, reliable information. In an omnichannel ecosystem, it becomes a key lever for synchronizing data between systems (ERP, DAM, PIM) and sales platforms.
