Single Source of Truth (SSOT)

Single Source of Truth (SSOT) refers to a single, centralized, and reliable reference point for all of a company's critical data, ensuring its consistency and accuracy.

In an environment where data is often scattered across multiple systems (ERP, CRM, PIM, etc.), SSOT eliminates silos by consolidating information into a single trusted space. For product data, for example, the PIM often plays this role by centralizing descriptions, images, prices, or technical attributes, thereby preventing errors or inconsistencies across sales channels (e-commerce site, marketplaces, printed catalogs).
