Productivity and autonomy: How Hydro-M2AC has transformed its product management
Hydro-M2AC is a service company specialising in the sale, repair and installation of professional and consumer cleaning equipment. Based in the Nantes region, it supports local businesses, particularly in equipping car wash centres and providing on-site cleaning solutions.
The company operates online via three e-commerce sites built on the Prestashop platform. It soon became clear that its ERP system (EBP) had limitations when it came to managing product information. The increasing number of fields to fill in, the lack of centralisation, and the manual management of images made the process of putting products online time-consuming, tedious and difficult to scale.
Faced with these obstacles, Hydro-M2AC made the strategic decision to adopt Quable PIM to centralise its product data, improve efficiency and streamline its distribution processes.
The issues
Product publication was taking too long
The average time taken to publish a product listing was 48 hours, including researching information, taking photographs and updating data. As the sole digital manager responsible for this area, the Digital Manager needed to find a solution to automate the process and make it more reliable.
Manual, non-collaborative management
Requests to create new products arrived via email or verbally, with no history or traceability. The lack of structure made collaboration difficult and slowed down the time taken to go live.
A siloed technical stack
The ERP system was not designed to centralise product data. A tool was therefore needed that could interface with EBP, PrestaShop and, eventually, future B2B platforms or marketplaces.
Solutions provided by the Quable PIM
Quable has accelerated Hydro-M2AC’s business across all its channels and optimised the management of products and marketing materials, delivering a unified platform and increased efficiency.
A faster product launch process
Thanks to Quable, Hydro-M2AC increased its online product range from 1,000 to 7,000 in one year. CSV imports, completion rates and data structuring have enabled the standardisation of product listing whilst maintaining the quality of the information.
Simplified and centralised collaboration
With the implementation of workflows, tags and user permissions, requests for new products are now structured within the PIM. Every contribution is logged, validated and tracked, which strengthens collaboration between the digital team and the field.
Seamless integration into an existing ecosystem
Integration with the existing stack (ERP and PrestaShop) has been simplified thanks to the APIs and web services already in place. Quable has established itself as the central component for ‘cold’ data, whilst the ERP continues to manage ‘hot’ data.
Quable has enabled Hydro-M2AC to:
- Increase the number of products launched online each year sevenfold
- Reduce the time taken to list new products online to just a few hours
- Streamline collaboration between the in-store and digital teams
Thanks to the detailed history of requests, changes and additions within Quable, I can easily identify the author and date of each action. This ensures essential traceability and greatly facilitates collaboration within the team. Nicolas LE TURC | Digital Manager at Hydro-M2AC
