Werner operates in the electrical distribution sector, a market characterised by extensive product catalogues, constant SKU updates and extremely diverse data sources. With tens of thousands of products from multiple manufacturers (each providing their information in different formats and at different frequencies), the company needed a modern, scalable solution to ensure reliable, comprehensive and consistent product data.‍

To address these challenges, Werner chose Quable PIM, supported by Xngage’s expertise, to centralise product information, automate data ingestion from external repositories and drastically reduce the manual workload for its teams.

Manufacturers were providing product information via a variety of formats and sources, making it difficult to maintain the accuracy, consistency and completeness of Werner’s catalogue.

With their previous PIM, Optimizely, the teams faced a highly manual data enrichment process, limited automation capabilities and insufficient collaboration features.

Many products belonged to multiple categories, creating classification ambiguities and misalignments between systems. In the electrical retail sector, even the slightest data inconsistency can lead to order errors, safety risks or lost sales, making these issues critical.

Xngage developed an integration enabling AD product data to be imported directly into Quable. Each product is linked to its unique identifier, attributes are aligned with Quable’s existing structure, and data flows automatically in a consistent and reliable format. This automation eliminates manual imports and ensures that products are complete and ready for enrichment right from the start.

Werner audited its taxonomy with Xngage to ensure that each product is correctly assigned to its category and that the structure is consistent between the PIM and the e-commerce channel. The result: a clearer, more reliable catalogue that facilitates enrichment and publication.

Structured data and assets are centralised in Quable, enabling faster and more accurate updates. The PIM offers total control over product content, reduces errors and manual work, and establishes a scalable system capable of integrating new data sources and workflows over time.

  • Significant time savings

Automated data ingestion has significantly reduced manual imports and corrections, allowing Gabby to focus on improvement initiatives rather than repetitive data-cleaning tasks.

  • Higher-quality product data

Thanks to structured data being integrated as soon as it enters the PIM, completeness and reliability have improved across the entire catalogue.

  • A future-proof architecture

The new system enables Werner to integrate new data sources, expand automation and set up workflows tailored to broader collaboration between teams.
